The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is dedicated to providing high-quality leadership training for those whose career paths lead them into supervisory, management, or other leadership positions in their organizations. Whether you are an aspiring or first-time supervisor transitioning into a management role, a current manager looking to cultivate new skills for influencing your team, or a seasoned senior administrator seeking to build deeper knowledge of managing your organization, the BCA has a leadership development plan for you.

Designed as a three-tiered approach to leadership, each level builds on the previous level and provides knowledge and skills that enhance current leadership competencies. Those who successfully complete all six courses required for each level in a three-year period earn the BCA Supervision, Middle Management, or Senior Leadership Certificate.

The program structure has been updated - the below program structures will remain active until December 31, 2023.  Please review new program requirements if you would like to update your current program participation.

Program Participation

To participate in this program, use the application form to track your completed training requirements (listed below). All trainings must be completed within three years to earn this certificate. Participants can locate completed trainings under the Credits tab of their BCA training account.

Once all requirements have been met, submit completed form via email to bca.training@state.mn.us. The BCA will confirm the requirements have been met and issue the certificate.

I really liked the ideas the course discussed for decision making in ensuring that all decisions I make as a leader weigh all of the different consequences. Very helpful techniques!
